PAIN CONTROL YOU

TREATMENT

The most important question in physiotherapy is not what treatments you do, but to know when each modality is appropriate, which combination of modalities would work best and to ensure buy in of each patient by a thorough explanation of the diagnosis and treatments.

MODALITIES

Ultrasound
This is a form of electrotherapy normally used in acute injuries. The ultrasound head does a micro vibration that changes the permeability of veins and doing so facilitates the draining of swelling.
Massage
One of the most frequently used and well known techniques to relieve muscle spasm. Endurance athletes and sprinters frequently come for recovery rub downs.
Strapping
On return to sport this is used to support the injured structure. In most cases this strapping is used to protect ligaments from further injury.
Kinesio
This “trendy” strapping facilitates proper muscle function and is a valuable, yet inexpensive tool in rehabilitation.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation
This electrical current is used when there is a pronounced weakness in the muscle and will stimulate subconscious muscle contraction.

REHABILITATION

Unfortunately we cannot heal you, but we can show you how to heal yourself.
Swiss Ball
This massive ball gives more movement in training and requires a lot of muscle control when training.

Resistance Training
Muscle strength and control is key to a healthy body and injury prevention. Therefore muscles need to be strengthened in a well planned training program.
Proprioceptive Training
Once a ligament is injured, the pathway between brain and joint is hurt and should be re-educated by this kind of treatment.\

Pilates & Pilates Roll
This training emphasises breathing with training and will teach you to use muscles you never knew existed.

Agility
Before returning to sport, each patient must go through similar movements than expected of him on the sports field to regain his confidence.
Matwork
You must be able to control your own body and body weight before even considering to do weight training.
